Missional Lifestyle

2 Corinthians 5:11-12

The Church is a sent people who belong to God and is also a sending agency. The heart of Christ to pursue people has been given to the Church. Missional sent ness focuses on "leaving" and has everything to do with “leaving.” We want the YTBB (Yet-to-be-believer) to know that we came to them because Christ came.

There are many pockets of people throughout Yolo County and the nations who have not been renewed and redeemed by the gospel. There are so many in Yolo County who would not even consider entering the door of a Sunday worship service. This poses a particular challenge to us, a church in Davis.  If we desire to reach out to those who would never come to an event, we must learn how to “get small” through a missional endeavor. Perhaps there must be change at a smaller level: we must declare and demonstrate the gospel in community “on mission” to every pocket of people for a movement to occur. However, we must understand that being missional (sent ones) and learning to embody that identity is not just a pragmatic endeavor, it is first and foremost a theological one. It starts and finishes with the character and actions of our Lord who sent Himself.

At The Bridge, it is our vision to become a network (interconnected groups) of missional communities. We want to be teaching small groups of people, called of God, joined by the Gospel of Jesus Christ, who by the power of the Holy Spirit to pursue the renewal and redemption of their community and the nations together.
